How a Client Made Me Cry
12/4/25
I have to share a story about something a client shared with me recently, because it’s exactly why I created the 𝐶𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑎𝑛𝑦 𝐶𝑢𝑙𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑒 𝐵𝑜𝑎𝑟𝑑 𝐺𝑎𝑚𝑒® in the first place.
They bought the game, gathered their team, and held their own play session – no outside facilitator, just their people talking honestly. And what happened was powerful. Within one session, the group uncovered three internal procedures they realized were either missing or unclear. Instead of letting the insight fade, they turned around and built the procedures they needed. Simple, practical fixes that now make their workplace run smoother.
𝐴𝑛𝑑 ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒’𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑢𝑐𝑘 𝑚𝑒 𝑒𝑚𝑜𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦.
Their conversation didn’t stop at internal issues. It sparked an idea about strengthening their hiring pipeline. They ended up forming a relationship with a local organization that 𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑠 𝑖𝑛𝑑𝑖𝑣𝑖𝑑𝑢𝑎𝑙𝑠 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑑𝑖𝑠𝑎𝑏𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑒𝑠 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑒𝑚𝑝𝑙𝑜𝑦𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡. This non-profit screens, trains, and assists candidates so they’re truly ready for the jobs and hours the employer needs. They talked with the employer about the right-fit jobs.
That one conversation created clarity, action, and a community partnership that’s now benefiting everyone involved.
This is the kind of outcome that keeps me energized (𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑐𝑟𝑦𝑖𝑛𝑔 ℎ𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑦 𝑡𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑠). When teams have the right environment, they don’t just improve culture—they build solutions that matter. And 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡’𝑠 𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑔𝑎𝑚𝑒 𝑖𝑠 𝑑𝑒𝑠𝑖𝑔𝑛𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑠𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑘 every single time.
